“I was looking for a structured process that would hold my hand and walk me through.”
How were you feeling about your career, prior to the course?
I was losing interest in my work.
It was impacting my private life, because I was losing energy. I wasn’t sleeping so well. By nature, I'm quite a buoyant, sociable, outgoing kind of a guy, and I was retreating into myself.
I was feeling a bit lost and very much questioning what I was doing, why I was doing it, and feeling like I was missing out.
Certainly also at my age, I was thinking to myself, am I going to retire with regrets? Should I have been doing something else? Could I be contributing in a different way? What could I give back to the world?
My head was a complete mess, I was all over the place. I'd lost confidence.
I thought at the time that I needed to do something completely different that would give my life more meaning and give me my peace of mind back.
Why did you choose to sign up for the Launch Pad?
I was looking for a structured process that would hold my hand and walk me through a journey of discovery.
I was intrigued with what would come out of the other end of the process.
I looked at the course testimonials, and to be honest, it was the first thing that I landed on that felt right after doing quite a bit of googling.
What about the course most helped you make your shift?
I went into the Launch Pad very unhappy, thinking I wanted to make a big shift.
Through the course I learned an absolute tonne about myself, and actually realised that what I was doing is a perfect fit for me – I was just in the wrong environment. I didn’t know that before the Launch Pad.
My experience on the Launch Pad was 100% positive from the start, from the quality of tutors, the quality of the online material that’s still available if I need to go through it again, through meeting a cohort of really kind, supportive people. We were all on this journey together.
How are you feeling about your career now?
After the Launch Pad, I'm doing a very, very similar job in the same industry but I'm happy, whereas before the Launch Pad, I wasn't.
Going through the Launch Pad process I recognised that I wasn't getting what I needed from my previous employer. I came to see that there were some things that are important to me in terms of how I work and the freedoms that I need in a working environment.
What would you say to someone considering the Launch Pad?
I would say if you're thinking about doing it, you probably know you need to do it, so just do it.
You can find full details about the course on our dedicated Launch Pad page.
